I applied to some programs that participate in Phase I and some that participate in Phase II. Do I participate in both Phases of the Match?
It depends. Your Match registration covers participation in both Phase I and Phase II of the Match. However, if you obtain a position in Phase I of the Match you cannot participate in Phase II of the Match. If you do not participate in Phase I, or if you participate in Phase I but are not matched, you can participate in Phase II.

What should I do if I have an offer from a program that is not participating in the Match?
You must decide prior to the Rank Order List deadline whether you want to accept the position from the non-Match program, or participate in the Match. If you accept the position from a non-Match program, you must withdraw from the Match prior to the Rank Order List deadline. If you participate in the Match and are matched to a position, you must accept the matched position. If you refuse to accept the position where you matched, penalties may be imposed on you by the sponsoring organizations, as outlined in the Applicant Agreement.
