| September, 2025 | Residency Registration: Registration emails for participation in the Medical Physics Matching Program (the "MedPhys Match") are sent to residency Program Directors, who must complete the online registration process using the NMS Match System. |

By this date, a list of programs participating in the MedPhys Match will be available for access on the MedPhys Match website. Program registrations may still be accepted after this date, and the list will be updated regularly to reflect changes in program participation. Applicant Registration: MedPhys Match registration opens for applicants. Prior to registering, applicants should review the information in the Applicant Registration section of this website. Application Service: The MedPhys Match Application Service opens for applicants and programs. Instructions for using the Application Service are provided on the MedPhys Match website. Application processes and deadlines for programs vary; therefore, applicants should check with programs directly for more information. |

Rankings Open: Applicants and programs may begin to submit Rank Order Lists for the MedPhys Match using the NMS Match System. |

Match Results Day: Results of the MedPhys Match are released to applicants and Program Directors. No action to fill positions remaining unfilled is to be taken prior to 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time. Program Directors send letters of confirmation of the MedPhys Match result to matched applicants within 10 working days of the release of the MedPhys Match results. Applicants must return the letters of confirmation in accordance with the program's instructions within 10 days of receipt of the letter from the program. |

Post-Match Process: The Post-Match Process is used to fill any positions that remain available after the Matching Process. Starting at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on March 27, programs and applicants are free to contact each other share information, conduct interviews, and make or accept offers directly. Programs with unfilled positions will have access to information on applicants who submitted an application or certified a Rank Order List but were not matched, as well as applicants who withdrew but indicated they are still seeking a position. Unmatched applicants will have access to a list of programs with available positions and may send applications to those programs using the NMS Match System. The Post-Match process is open to new participants starting at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on March 27. Programs that did not previously register for the MedPhys Match may register at this time to accept applications. Applicants who did not previously register for the MedPhys Match may also register at this time to send applications to programs in the Post-Match Process. |
| May 31, 2026 | NMS Match System Closes: The NMS Match System will close for all applicants, programs, and reference writers. After this date, the system will no longer be accessible. All participants are responsible for downloading any required information prior to this date, as no content will be available once the system is closed. |
