Register for the MedPhys Match

The 2024 MedPhys Match

Requirements

Any medical physics residency offering positions that start training between June 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024, may participate in the MedPhys Match. Residencies do not need to be CAMPEP accredited in order to participate in the MedPhys Match; however, CAMPEP accreditation status should be disclosed to applicants since it may affect their eligibility for future Board certification.

AAPM and SDAMPP encourage all medical physics residency programs that start training on or around July 1 to participate, although programs recruiting for start dates later in the year may also want to participate and seek residents from the larger applicant pool.

To register for the MedPhys Match, the program must agree to abide by the Schedule of Dates of the MedPhys Match, the Residency Agreement, and the Rules of the MedPhys Match.

Registration Process

Register Online

The Program Director of each residency is sent an email from the MedPhys Match with a personalized link and instructions to register their residency in the NMS Match System. If you have not received an email to register your residency for the MedPhys Match by September 8, 2023, please contact NMS.

Any residency that is wondering if their unique recruiting needs can be accommodated within the MedPhys Match, or is considering not participating in the MedPhys Match because they do not think their specific requirements can be satisfied, should contact NMS to discuss their situation. The MedPhys Match has many tools and features that residencies can use to satisfy their unique resident recruiting requirements.

Consult the Registration User Guide for step-by-step instructions for registering for the MedPhys Match.

Fees

There is a $375 USD fee for residencies to register for the MedPhys Match.

The registration fee covers the full cost of a residency's participation in the MedPhys Match. There are no supplemental fees for the number of programs or positions offered, rankings submitted, or the number of applicants matched to the residency. The registration fee is non-refundable (even if the residency subsequently decides not to participate in the MedPhys Match) and is not transferable to future MedPhys Matches or other residencies.

After You Register

Confirmation

After the online registration process is complete, you will receive a confirmation by email which includes the Code Number and description for each program registered for the MedPhys Match.

You should provide the Code Number of each program to your applicants, as the Code Number uniquely identifies each program in the MedPhys Match. This is particularly important for residencies offering more than one program/track.

Updating Your Residency and Program Information

Once your residency is registered, you can log into the NMS Match System to update your residency or program information. This includes modifying the number of positions offered by a program in the MedPhys Match, adding an additional program to your residency, withdrawing a program from the MedPhys Match, or modifying your contact information.
