Match result information will be available at starting at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on April 14, 2027.
Content
The following Match Result information will be available to programs:
- A downloadable PDF Match Result Report showing the personal Match result for their program
- A List of Matched Applicants which shows where each applicant who obtained a position was placed.
- A file of information on registered applicants who did not obtain a position will be available for download starting at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on April 14, 2027.
- Summary statistics of the results of the Match for applicants and programs will be available on this website.
Unmatched applicants will have access to a list of positions that remain available for the Post-Match Process starting at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on April 14, 2027. Programs can update the information shown on this list, including contact information and the number of positions available in each track.
Distribution
Match result notification emails will be sent to all programs and applicants that submitted Rank Order Lists. The emails will be sent on April 14, 2027 with the intention of having all emails sent between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m Eastern Time. Due to unreliable email exchanges and inbound message handling, the time of email delivery cannot be guaranteed.
Beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on April 14, 2027, each registered applicant and program can log into the NMS Match System to access their personal Match result online.
Programs must send letters of confirmation to their matched applicants within 10 working days of the release of the results (12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on April 14, 2027). Matched applicants must return the letter in accordance with the program's instructions within 17 working days of the release of the Match results, not later than May 7, 2027.
Statistics
Aggregate statistics on the participation and outcome of the Match will be posted online on April 14, 2027.
Post-Match Process (Unmatched Applicant Program)
Genetic counseling programs accredited by the ACGC work together to try to ensure that as many qualified candidates as possible are admitted to programs each year.
Beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on April 14, 2027, programs with available positions are permitted to fill those positions, independently of the Match, with applicants who did not obtain a position in the Match. NMS is not involved in the filling of positions during the Post-Match Process.
Programs with available positions may choose to add themselves to the List of Programs with Available Positions that is provided to unmatched applicants in the NMS Match System beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on April 14, 2027.
Information on the List of Programs with Available Positions may be updated. Programs and positions can be removed from the list at any time and new positions may be added as they become available. Any and all changes to a Program's list of matched applicants must be communicated to GCEA MIS via the online Reporting Form
Programs will have access to information on unmatched applicants via the NMS Match System beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on April 14, 2027. Programs may request that interested unmatched applicants complete an application, provide associated materials, and attend an interview. Programs may also ask the applicant for permission to talk to the programs where the applicant previously interviewed.
The Post-Match Process will close on May 31, 2027.
