Match Result Information Available in the NMS Match System
The following information will be available to residencies:
- Programs that participated in Phase II can download a report that lists the applicant(s) that matched each of your programs in Phase II, and whether or not each program has any unfilled positions.
- Unmatched applicants can access a list of programs with available positions.
- Information on applicants who certified a Rank Order List for the Match but did not obtain a position will be available in the NMS Match System beginning 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time on April 23, 2026.
Residencies are encouraged to contact matched applicants as soon as possible to acknowledge the Match result.
Within 30 days of the release of the Match results, residency programs must contact each matched applicant in writing. This correspondence should request that the applicant confirm and document their acceptance of the results, with a reply deadline set by the program but no later than the start of the residency program. The residency program must also include general information about the hiring process, including any pre-employment requirements.
Residents who matched in Phase I or Phase II are pre-enrolled in PharmAcademic using information provided by NMS.
Although NMS makes every effort to provide you with your Match result expeditiously, failure to receive your result in a timely manner does not affect your obligation to the applicants matched to your residency.
Post-Match Process
Unmatched applicants and programs with unfilled positions are free to contact each other and to negotiate directly with each other, independently of the Match, to fill available positions.

Update Information on the List of Programs with Available Positions
Programs must log into the NMS Match System in order to update their contact information or the number of positions shown on the List of Programs with Available Positions.
Initially, only programs that were left with unfilled positions are shown on the list. All programs that were active in the Match are able to update their information on available positions. Programs that did not register, registered but withdrew from the Match, or registered and filled all their positions through the Early Commitment Process, must contact NMS to update their information.
- Updating Contact information: Changes to contact information are made in the Profile section of the NMS Match System. Changes to contact information will apply only to the List of Programs with Available Positions, and will not be reflected permanently in NMS records. Permanent changes to contact information after the Rank Order List deadline must be submitted to NMS in writing, not through the NMS Match System.
- Add Program to the Post-Match Process: If you wish to add your program to the Post-Match Process, you must take action in both the NMS Match System and PhORCAS.
- Log into the NMS Match System and set the number of Post-Match positions your program is offering (1 or more).
- Open your program for applications in the PhORCAS portal.
- Remove Program from the Post-Match Process: If you wish to remove your program from the Post-Match Process, you must take action in both the NMS Match System and PhORCAS.
- Close your program in the PhORCAS portal.
- Log into the NMS Match System and set the number of Post-Match positions for your program to 0 (zero).
NMS Match System Instructions for Adding or Removing Positions
The NMS Match System will close on May 29, 2026 for all users. The list of List of Programs with Available Positions will not be available to applicants after this date.
Programs that fill a position in the Post-Match Process do not need to notify ASHP or NMS, but they must manually enroll the resident in PharmAcademic. Contact the PharmAcademic Help Desk for instructions, if necessary.
