August, 2016Residency registration e-mails for participation in the Match are sent to residency program directors, who must complete the online registration process.
November, 2016Beginning in early November, applicants will be able to register for the Match. Prior to registering, applicants should review information accessible from the links in the About the Match section of this web site. Applicants register for the Match via the online registration portal shared by the Match and the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS). The registration portal can be accessed from the Applicant Registration page on this web site.

Applicants must apply to programs independently of the Match. All residencies in the United States participate in PhORCAS; applicants must register for the Match before they can send applications to those residencies. Applicants must abide by the individual application deadline dates set by each program.
November 2, 2016By this date a list of programs participating in the Match will be available on this web site.
December 16, 2016 Final date for receipt at National Matching Services Inc. of letters of agreement and fees for the early commitment of PGY2 positions to current PGY1 residents.
December 31, 2016Recommended date by which applicants should register for the Match.
February 3, 2017By this date instructions for submitting Rank Order Lists and obtaining Match results will be available to applicants and program directors registered to participate in the Match.
February 13, 2017Beginning on this date applicants and programs will be able to submit Rank Order Lists for Phase I of the Match.
March 2, 2017Final date on which applicants can register to participate in Phase I of the Match.
March 3, 2017Phase I Rank Order List Deadline: Final date for submission of applicant and program Rank Order Lists for Phase I of the Match. No Rank Order Lists for Phase I of the Match can be accepted after this date.
March 17, 2017Results of Phase I of the Match are released to applicants and program directors.

Program directors must send letters of confirmation of the Phase I Match result, no later than April 16, 2017, to matched applicants who must sign and return the letters of confirmation.

Positions available after Phase I of the Match is completed will be offered to applicants who were not matched in Phase I through Phase II of the Match. The list of programs with available positions for Phase II of the Match will be provided on the Match web site beginning at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Applicants who are not matched to a position in Phase I, as well as applicants who did not participate in Phase I, will be able to use PhORCAS to prepare applications beginning on March 17 following release of the Phase I Match results.
March 21, 2017Beginning at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time on this date, applicants who did not obtain a position in Phase I of the Match or who did not participate in Phase I of the Match will be able to submit applications using PhORCAS to programs participating in Phase II of the Match.
March 27, 2017Beginning on this date, applicants and programs will be able to submit Rank Order Lists for Phase II of the Match.
April 4, 2017Final date on which applicants can register to participate in Phase II of the Match.
April 5, 2017Phase II Rank Order List Deadline: Final date for submission of applicant and program Rank Order Lists for Phase II of the Match. No Rank Order Lists for Phase II of the Match can be accepted after this date.
April 12, 2017Results of Phase II of the Match are released to applicants and program directors.

Program directors must send letters of confirmation of the Phase II Match result, no later than May 12, 2017, to matched applicants who must sign and return the letters of confirmation.

The list of programs with available positions after Phase II of the Match will be provided beginning at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time. No action to fill available positions, such as contacts or interviews between applicants and programs, is to be taken prior to 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time on April 12. Programs will be able to update information on positions available after the Match on the Match web site until May 31.

Applicants who do not obtain a position in the Match will be able to use PhORCAS to prepare applications to programs that have positions available beginning on April 12 following release of the Phase II Match results.
April 13, 2017Beginning at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time on this date, applicants who did not obtain a position in either Phase of the Match, or who did not participate in either Phase of the Match, will be able to submit applications using PhORCAS to programs with available positions.
April 19, 2017Recommended date for programs with available positions to begin making offers to applicants.
