On FEBRUARY 20, 2009, beginning at 10:00 a.m. EST, applicants who participated in the Match will be able to find out from this web site whether or not they have been matched to an internship position. Academic programs that are APPIC Subscribers will also be able to find out whether or not each of their students has matched to an internship position. However, applicants and academic programs will not be told the specific program to which an applicant is matched until Match Day. No Match result information will be provided to training sites at this time.

On APPIC Match Day, FEBRUARY 23, 2009, full Match result information will be available on this web site beginning at 10:00 a.m. EST. At that time, matched applicants will be told the specific program to which the applicant is matched, and APPIC Subscribers will be able to access a list of the results for their students, indicating where each student has matched. At the same time, training sites will be told which applicant(s) matched to their site, and whether or not their site has any unfilled positions. Training sites will also be informed of the Match result obtained by each applicant ranked by the site.

Access to Match result information on this web site will be restricted to applicants and training sites registered to participate in the Match, and to academic programs that are APPIC Subscribers. Those who are eligible to access the Match results should consult the instructions provided to them by NMS in December 2008 for information on the codes and passwords needed to access this information.

By E-mail

Match result information will also be sent by e-mail to applicants and training sites that provided NMS with an e-mail address and participated in the Match (i.e. submitted and certified a Rank Order List with at least one active choice, and did not withdraw from the Match). Similarly, the results provided to APPIC Subscribers will also be sent by e-mail to those Subscribers that provided NMS with an e-mail address.

E-mails will be sent on February 20, 2009, before 10:00 a.m. EST, to applicants who participated in the Match and to APPIC Subscribers indicating whether or not each applicant has matched. On February 23, 2009, before 10:00 a.m. EST, e-mails will be sent to matched applicants and to APPIC Subscribers informing them of the position to which each applicant has matched. At the same time on February 23, e-mails will also be sent to each training site that participated in the Match, listing the applicant(s) matched to the site and providing the site with information on the Match result obtained by each applicant ranked by the site.

The same Match result information will be provided by e-mail and on this web site. Applicants, training sites and APPIC Subscribers that receive their results by e-mail should not also try to access their results from the web site. However, any applicant, training site or Subscriber that does not receive their result by e-mail should access their result from this web site.

Information on Positions Available After the Match

To assist applicants who do not obtain a position in the Match, a list of programs with positions available after the Match will be posted on this web site beginning at 11:00 a.m. EST on February 23, 2009. This list will include those internship sites that elect to list on the web site any positions that remain unfilled in the Match. This list will not be updated after the initial release of the Match results, and will be removed from the web site at 11:00 a.m. EST on Thursday, March 5, 2009.

In addition, starting on February 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. EST, APPIC will be operating a Clearinghouse for available positions via a free e-mail list service.
