Phase I of the Match

Every applicant who registers for the Match must either submit a Rank Order List for Phase I of the Match or withdraw from Phase I of the Match, using the online system accessible from this web site. Note: applicants who withdraw from Phase I will be permitted to participate in Phase II of the Match.

The links listed below provide important information and instructions concerning the preparation and submission of your Rank Order List or withdrawing from the Match. You should review this information before accessing the system to enter your rankings or to withdraw from the Match.

The system will be available for applicants to enter Rank Order Lists for Phase I of the Match as follows:

Ranking System Opens:	Monday, January 23, 2012
Rank Order List Deadline:	Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time

The deadline for submitting all information for Phase I of the Match is February 8, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. You are strongly advised to complete the entry and certification of your Rank Order List, or withdraw from the Match, well before the Rank Order List deadline to avoid competing with many other Match participants accessing the system near the deadline, when system performance may be slow.

After the Rank Order List deadline for Phase I, you will be able to view but not change your information submitted for Phase I of the Match until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday, February 27, 2012.

Applicants will not be able to access the online system to submit rankings or withdrawals, or to change any other information submitted for the Match, from the Rank Order List deadline for Phase I on February 8, 2012 until the system re-opens for Phase II on March 1, 2012. Furthermore, only those applicants eligible to participate in Phase II will be able to access the online system to enter or change information for Phase II, beginning on March 1, 2012 as noted below.

Phase II of the Match

Every applicant who registers for the Match but does not obtain a position in Phase I of the Match must either submit a Rank Order List for Phase II of the Match or withdraw from Phase II of the Match, using the online system accessible from this web site. Note: applicants who withdraw from Phase II will be permitted to seek positions after Phase II using the APPIC Post-Match Vacancy Service.

For the most part, the procedures for preparing and submitting Rank Order Lists for Phase II of the Match, or withdrawing from Phase II of the Match, are essentially the same as for Phase I of the Match. The links listed in the section for Phase I above provide important information and instructions concerning the preparation and submission of your Rank Order List or withdrawing from the Match; where there are differences between Phase I and Phase II, those differences are described in the information displayed from each link listed above. If you have not already done so, you should review that information before accessing the system to enter your rankings or to withdraw from Phase II of the Match.

You are strongly advised to complete the entry and certification of your Rank Order List, or withdraw from the Match, well before the Rank Order List deadline to avoid competing with many other Match participants accessing the system near the deadline, when system performance may be slow.

After the Rank Order List deadline for Phase II, you will be able to view but not change your information submitted for Phase II of the Match until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday, March 29, 2012.
