Eligible Doctoral Programs
When registering for the Match, each applicant must identify his or her school or university and doctoral program. All eligible doctoral programs are shown in this listing.
What if a school or doctoral program does not appear in this list?
If a school or doctoral program does not appear in this listing, but you believe applicants from the program should be eligible to participate in the Match, please contact NMS and be prepared to provide the following information about the program: name and location of school or university, type of doctoral program, name and contact information (phone, e-mail) of the program's Director of Clinical Training (DCT), and the internet address (URL) of the program's web site if available. APPIC will need to verify the eligibility of the program for participation in the Match. If APPIC approves the program, NMS will then add the program to the system.
Find A Doctoral Program
Within each state, schools are sequenced by city, then alphabetically by school name within city. Schools in Canada are listed separately.
Information on Listing
Doctoral programs that are eligible for the Match are identified by the program type and the name of a faculty member from the program. The person shown for each program will usually be the Director of Clinical Training (DCT), but may be another faculty member from the program. In addition, each doctoral program is designated as one of the following:
- APPIC Doctoral Program Associate: Most (but not all) doctoral programs subscribe to services provided by APPIC; these programs are referred to as APPIC Doctoral Program Associates. Each APPIC Doctoral Program Associate has been assigned an Associate Number by APPIC, and this Number is shown in the list for each doctoral program that is an APPIC Associate.
APPIC Doctoral Program Associates receive notification directly from NMS of the result obtained by each of their students in each Phase of the Match. They will be provided with a list of the applicants who have indicated they are from that program, to confirm that students have identified the academic training program correctly when they registered for the Match. - CCPPP Member: Canadian programs that are not APPIC Associates but are members of the Canadian Council of Professional Psychology Programs (CCPPP) are shown in this list with a designation of "CCPPP" instead of an APPIC Associate Number.
- Neither APPIC Associate Nor CCPPP Member: These programs are shown in this list with a designation of "Non-Assoc."
