National Resident Matching Program
The National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) has operated Matching Programs for the placement of physicians into postgraduate medical education training programs throughout the United States for over fifty years.
The largest Matching Program operated by the NRMP involves over 35,000 applicants for more than 25,000 first and second year residency positions in 4,000 residency training programs. In addition, the NRMP conducts many separate matches for fellowship positions in a variety of subspecialties.
NMS and its senior professionals have had a close working relationship with the NRMP since 1973. For many years, NMS was responsible for developing, operating and supporting all aspects of the NRMP's computer software systems, and worked with management on the definition and implementation of strategic initiatives, supervision of operations, financial management and Board reporting. Currently, NMS continues to be responsible for the maintenance and support of the matching software developed by NMS and used by the NRMP to carry out its matches.
