Schedule of Dates

For 2011-2012 postdoctoral positions, the Match will be conducted in two phases:

Phase I - ORTHO and/or ANES Programs Only:

A first match will be carried out for ORTHO and ANES positions only. All ORTHO and ANES programs, and any applicants interested in matching to an ORTHO or ANES position, must submit Rank Order Lists by November 19, 2010, for Phase I of the Match.

Applicants who obtain an ORTHO or ANES position in Phase I of the Match will not be eligible to participate in Phase II of the Match. Any applicant who did not submit a Rank Order List for Phase I, or who submitted a Rank Order List but was not matched in Phase I, may submit a Rank Order List for Phase II of the Match.

Phase II - GPR, AEGD, OMS and/or PED Programs Only:

Any applicant interested in matching to a GPR, AEGD, OMS or PED position, and who did not match to a position in Phase I, must submit a Rank Order List by January 14, 2011. All GPR, AEGD, OMS and PED programs must also submit their Rank Order Lists by the same date.

Complete Schedule of Dates

For the Match to function successfully, all participants must adhere to the complete Schedule of Dates below:

APRIL - JUNE, 2010: Institution Agreements for participation in the Match are sent to program directors. Program directors must return their Institution Agreements to National Matching Services Inc.
MAY 18, 2010: Beginning on this date applicants can register for the Match. Prior to registering, applicants should review the information in the Applicant Registration section of this web site. Applicants register for the Match via the online registration portal shared by the Match and the ADEA Postdoctoral Application Support Service (PASS). The registration portal can be accessed from the Applicant Registration section of this web site, or directly at https://portal.passweb.org.; Applicants must apply to programs independently of the Match. Application deadlines for programs vary, therefore applicants should check with programs regarding their deadline dates.
AUGUST 1, 2010: By this date a preliminary list of programs participating in the Match will be available on this web site.
OCTOBER 1, 2010: Recommended date by which applicants should register for the Match.
OCTOBER 22, 2010: By this date instructions for submitting Rank Order Lists and obtaining Match results will be available to applicants and program directors registered to participate in the Match.
NOVEMBER 19, 2010: Final date for submission of applicant and program Rank Order Lists for Phase I of the Match for ORTHO and ANES positions.
DECEMBER 1, 2010: Results of the Match for Phase I are released to applicants and program directors. No action to fill ORTHO or ANES positions remaining unfilled after Phase I is to be taken prior to 12 noon Eastern Standard Time on this date.
DECEMBER 1, 2010 - DECEMBER 31, 2010: Program directors of ORTHO and ANES programs must send letters of confirmation of the Match result for Phase I to matched applicants within 10 days of the release of the Match results. Applicants must sign and return the letters of confirmation within 30 days of the release of the Match results.
JANUARY 14, 2011: Final date for submission of applicant and program Rank Order Lists for Phase II of the Match for GPR, AEGD, OMS and PED positions.
JANUARY 31, 2011: Results of the Match for Phase II are released to applicants and program directors. No action to fill positions remaining unfilled after Phase II is to be taken prior to 12 noon Eastern Standard Time on this date.
JANUARY 31, 2011 - MARCH 2, 2011: Program directors of GPR, AEGD, OMS and PED programs must send letters of confirmation of the Match result for Phase II to matched applicants within 10 days of the release of the Match results. Applicants must sign and return the letters of confirmation within 30 days of the release of the Match results.
